Embrace the Cowl

Meet my latest design, Embrace the Cowl. It is sized for both a fitted neck cowl and a larger eternity scarf. You can easily add repeats of both length and width to change the cowl to fit your needs.
The lace reminds me of hearts and of open arms/hugs which is just perfect for this time of year.

I used two skein of Quince and Co. Lark which is a worsted weight wool that works wonderfully to show off stitch definition.

You can find it on Ravelry here, Embrace the Cowl.

50% of the sales through 3/14/11 will be donated to the National Brain Tumor Society in honor of my friend’s Mother who passed away last month.

Unwinding Hours Shawl

Jill and Kim from the Spin a Shawl group asked me to be their first designer for a special S-KAL (Spin & Knit-a-long) running from February 1st though March 31st on Ravelry, here. Please join the group if you are interested in knitting shawls from handspun.

I couldn’t have been more thrilled to design this shawl for them! I went with a simple stockinette and lace pattern because I really wanted to showcase the beauty of handspun yarn. I hope that the group has a blast spinning and knitting this shawl together!!

If you would like more information on the pattern, you can check it out on ravelry. Unwinding Hours Shawl

Hi, my name is Chrissy and I’m truly obsessed with knitting. If I don’t have a pair of needles in my hand then you will probably find me on Ravelry checking out my friends’ feeds, drooling over yarn, or chatting in my group, LeftSideKnits Fan Club.

I first picked up a pair of needles in 2007 and quickly became smitten. It was as if this new, creative world just opened for me. Aided by my cat Ralph, who loves to lay on my blocking FOs, I started LeftSideKnits and by extension this blog, as an outlet for my love of knitting. I have recently begun experimenting with designing, which is quickly becoming my true love.

Knitting is my life and I hope that comes through in my designs. Take a look around, check out my patterns, they’re all linked down the right side of this blog. Feel free to comment or contact me if you have any questions or simply want to talk knitting.
